The segmentation of networks or the isolation of sensitive network areas is one of the basic measures of almost all IT security concepts for the protection of industrial environments. With the Microwall Bridge, the implementation of this measure is IP-transparent and the network configuration including routing of all components involved remains unchanged. Based on a whitelist, only the explicitly desired communication between the island and the surrounding network is activated via simple and intuitive filter rules at TCP/UDP/IP level. Due to the protocol-transparent operation, the Microwall Bridge is particularly suitable for the subsequent segmentation of existing network environments.
