Manage switching times centrally and flexibly
With the Web-IO 4.0 Time Switch, switching times for four independent switching outputs can be dynamically managed remotely.

Conventional timers make it possible to set daily switching times. In some cases, certain days of the week can also be specified. However, the switching times are always static and changes require access on site on the device.
Management of switching times via online calendar
Unlike conventional timers, the switching times of the Web-IO Time Switch are recorded in electronic calendars similar to appointment management. An independent calendar can be created for each switching output. The corresponding output switches on at the beginning of an entered appointment and off again at the end of the appointment.
In the simplest case, the Web-IO Time Switch can be configured in such a way that it automatically retrieves the calendar files cyclically in an online calendar without the need for user intervention on the Web-IO.
The advantage of this technology is that changes to the switching times can be made conveniently and from anywhere – in the browser or directly on the mobile phone.
Flexible design of switching times
Most online calendars record the appointments in the standardized iCal format (*.ics). This ports almost all possibilities of iCal appointment management to the management of the switching times of the Web-IO Time Switch. These include, but are not limited to:
Automatic consideration of summer and winter time
Setting up recurring appointments or recurring switching times, for example:
- daily at the same time
- only on certain days of the week
- weekdays only
- only on weekends
Determine exceptions for recurring appointments, for example:
- for holidays
- special events
- Holiday regulations
- …
Set an end date for recurring appointments
(last run)
How does the calendar get into the Web-IO
Retrieval of online calendars
As already described, the Web-IO can retrieve the required iCal file directly from the web server of an online calendar provider. To do this, simply configure the URL or Internet address under which the calendar is stored in the Web-IO.
In addition, it can be defined in which cycle the switching times of the Web-IO are to be synchronized with the online calendar.
If there is no online access, the Web-IO Time Switch continues to switch according to the most recently received switching specifications – permanent Internet access is therefore not necessary.
Manually upload calendar files
Another way to specify the switching times for an output is to load iCal files from the local hard disk into the Web-IO Time Switch.
Most calendar applications offer export in iCal format (*.ics). Calendar files created in this way can be uploaded via the web interface of the Web-IO Time Switch.
