The end devices (clients) involved in MQTT communication establish a connection to a central message service (server), the broker . Here you can as publishers post messages or as subscriber relate. The only requirement: the end devices must be able to connect to the broker, regardless of whether in the internal network or on the Internet.

MQTT was standardized by OASIS in 2013 and has since developed into an important protocol for the Internet of Things.

With the MQTT.box from Wiesemann & Theis you can operate your own Mosquitto MQTT broker in the network – on the top-hat rail in your control cabinet. The user management is of particular interest here, which together with the optional configuration of an access control list enables precise control of the access rights.
